Welcome To My Portfolio

My name is Francisca Vallejo and I am a  passionate and hardworking fifth semester mechanical engineering student studying at the Grove School of Engineering in the City College of New York. I was born in Colombia; my family promptly moved to Ecuador where I grew up and attended school until the age of eleven. In search of a brighter future, my parents utilized their savings to move to the United States. The rapid switch of culture and the language barrier I faced motivated me to work hard for my achievements and accommodate quickly to a new life-style. At the moment, I am working at LensCrafters – an optic located in Manhattan. Although I am conscious that my current job is not directly related to mechanical engineering, I have gained skills such as time management, leadership, and the ability to work in a team, all of which will be of use to me for future jobs. On my spare time I enjoy reading the non-fiction genre and exercising. My future goals are to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in science and design cool car engines.
